Counseling to Prevent and Recover from Professional Burnout
Hi, I’m Vickie. I do well with people who are “Type A” and who tend to put a lot of pressure on themselves because quite frankly, I can relate.
Healthcare burnout
As a social worker, I have spent over 8 years in healthcare settings, from community health centers to frontline harm reduction, from psychiatric inpatient to oncology care. Needless to say, I am not afraid of hard experiences. Since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, I have worked in-clinic, in-person alongside nurses and clinic staff when they striked for safer working conditions. Having personally experienced burnout and know how to recover from it, I am confident around issues related to work stress affecting medical professionals.
If you are a healthcare worker experiencing burnout, I understand. I want to help you navigate the emotional rollercoaster of your job and personal life so you can get back on your feet again.
Tech worker burnout
My passion for working with professionals extends beyond healthcare, as I come from a family of high achieving, high stress individuals. Growing up with two engineer parents and being immersed in social circles that are tech or tech adjacent, I understand the stressors related to these demanding roles. I have witnessed the overwhelming prevalence of imposter syndrome, as well as the disparate treatment that minority identities are often forced to navigate within these companies.
If you feel stuck in your current work setting, are dealing with a hostile work environment, or find yourself contemplating a major transition in your career, my solutions focused, goal oriented approach will likely resonate with you. I can help you set better boundaries at work, learn to advocate for yourself and equip you with tools to better handle difficult situations.
