Counseling for Living with a Chronic, Terminal Illness

Hi, I’m Vickie. I may look young but I’m an old soul. I see death and dying as a necessary part of the cycle of living, and have always boldly moved towards these uncomfortable conversations rather than shied away from them. I have a heart for working with adults living with chronic, terminal illness. Grief and loss come with any major transition, and oftentimes I see this arise around the life people envision living versus the reality of what is. If this is you or someone you love, I’m very skilled in helping you and your loved one wrestle with these major life transitions or end of life issues.

Amongst other things, my time in oncology taught me that it’s possible to live with courage and purpose in the face of a major illness or death. My patients and I have some of the richest and most memorable conversations around existential issues. We work to unpack what it means to be “strong;” we demilitarize their experiences of illness so it feels less like an act of war and more like a choice to live well. When things feel more resolved, their hearts, minds and even their bodies feel more at peace.

I would feel so honored to be this person for you, for your loved one.
